However, the ballasts in my fixtures say electronic ballast basic 12, use 40w or 34w t12 There are all kinds of. Soooo what's the difference between using a 40w t12, and a 34w t8???????

Most t12 ballasts are magnetic rapid start Heat is a very big deal with led, and you must be very careful when using them for fluorescent replacements It's hard to fry one aside from lifting a neutral on 277v and zapping it 480v.
What would happen if you installed t8 lamps onto a t12 ballast
They are 2 lamp 3' and 4' luminaires. Or does it harm either the ballast or lamps if you just leave the wiring and take out 2 of the lamps? I have dozens of 4 lamp t8 fluorescent fixtures in my office suite We like them and they work great, however, we like to run 2 bulbs in many of the fixtures instead of 4 (it doesn't matter why we just do)
I don't want to bother changing out the ballasts for a two bulb ballast. I got a question about retrofitting 4 lamp 4' t8 fixtures to ballast bypass led bulbs I feel somewhat dumb for asking but i just don't know:cautious If i use the identified to one end of the fixture, hot to the other end, how do you rewire the tombstones
Do you just grab all the blue/reds.
I used single ended, and replaced the 3 tombstones on the feed ends Stones came prewired with pigtails $.35 each, tubes were $6.60 Single ended is the way to go, with new tombstones
Cut all wires, and left ballast in fixtures to avoid recycling fees Time wise, we averaged 8 fixtures and hour/man. High, with both switches on Medium, with the one switch on for two lamps, and low, with just the one switch on for the one lamp
You can talk all day about optimal lighting levels, but the reality is that every person is different.
They now make a hi lumen 28w t8, so there is virtually no use for t5 except ho Are it's rare to see adaptors for existing fixtures due to the different lengths Led, the no heat thing is very misleading
